Firstly, this is a very quick introductory post just to say hi, here’s my new blog. It’s Sunday late afternoon and I should be outside in the sun before it disappears completely Monday afternoon a week later. The blog is finally up and running after a couple of weeks of mucking about. I’m still tweaking the design around here and there so things may well still be changing. More of an incentive for you to come back maybe? Didn’t think so!
Secondly, although this is now up and running I doubt I’ll be posting anything of worth under the category of web development for a while yet*. Vic and I leave on our travels at the start of October and before then we have a huge amount to get done. You never know though, I might squeeze up the odd post here and there in my lunch breaks.
If you’re interested, I hope to keep the blog going whilst we’re away, letting all friends and family (and anyone who drops by) know how we’re getting on and where we are. So keep coming back! Or grab the RSS feed…
Thirdly, I still haven’t introduced myself! I’m Stu (Sue to chumps). Hello! Caramelbiscuit has been lurking in the background for a few years now and was primarily set up to serve as an on-line portfolio to help with jobs etc. It didn’t change for around 3 years. Well, that site’s finally gone now and I’m working* on a new one, when that will be though, I don’t know. Shortly after we get back? We’ll see. And I’ve set up a blog… I said I never would and now here it is. But it has a purpose so it’s justified! So there.
I’m a web developer and I currently work for M.A.D Productions in deepest darkest Hampshire in the UK. I’m actually serving out my notice ready for October and I’ll be very sad to say goodbye to everyone there. There’s not a bad egg in the building and they’re producing some really nice work. If you’re interested, you should check them out. Yes, I did build the company site and thank you for asking. I was responsible for the entire build, but I can’t say the same for the awesome design or any of the content. We’re pleased with the way it turned out and there’s a few things planned / already built which aren’t quite live yet.
Sorry this isn’t very interesting, if anything it beats looking at the lorem ipsum that was the first post… which i’ve deleted. Sorry Soph.
Whilst I’m away, I hope to be able to keep up with Ryan Carson and Eric Meyer (as well as many other peers/colleagues via Twitter). If you don’t know who these guys are then you’re probably not working in the same industry and so are forgiven. If you are and you still don’t then shame on you. Check them out.
